Hook Guide / Size Guide

Choosing the right crochet hook makes a huge difference in comfort, tension, and stitch consistency. This guide will help you find the best YASL hook for your yarn, project, and hands.

Hook size conversion chart

Not sure what size to choose?

Beginner or general use - Go with 5.0 mm / H/8

Comfort & relaxed stitching - Go with 5.5 mm - 6.0 mm / I/9 - J/10

Fast, cozy projects - Go with 6.5 mm - 7.0 mm / K/10.5

Many crocheters benefit from sizing up 0.5 - 1.0 mm when using ergonomic wooden hooks to reduce hand tension while maintaining stitch consistency.

Still Unsure?

Start with our most popular size or reach out to use - we're always happy to help you choose the right hook.
